The Langtang Valley Trek is a 9-day journey into the closest Himalayan range to Kathmandu — yet it feels a world away. Following the Langtang Khola through dense forest and Tamang villages, you reach Kyanjin Gompa at 3,870m, surrounded by Langtang Lirung (7,227m) and glaciers.

Itinerary
9 daysDay 1: Arrive Kathmandu (1,400m) 1,400m
Arrival, transfer to hotel, evening briefing and welcome dinner.
Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m) 1,550m
Long but scenic drive north through Trishuli valley to the trailhead at Syabrubesi.
Winding mountain road.
Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,480m) 2,480m
Follow the Langtang Khola through dense bamboo and oak forest to Lama Hotel.
Watch for red pandas.
Day 4: Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m) 3,430m
Emerge from the forest to the open valley. Pass Ghoda Tabela then reach the rebuilt Langtang Village.
Day 5: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) 3,870m
Short walk to Kyanjin Gompa with monastery, cheese factory and dramatic Langtang Lirung views.
Day 6: Acclimatisation – Climb Kyanjin Ri (4,300m) 4,300m
Acclimatisation day. Climb Kyanjin Ri for sweeping views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding glaciers.
Steep but rewarding.
Day 7: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,480m) 2,480m
Retrace your steps down the valley to Lama Hotel.
Day 8: Trek to Syabrubesi – Drive to Kathmandu 1,400m
Final short trek to Syabrubesi, then drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 9: Departure 1,400m
Transfer to airport for onward flight.
